The Report: Unitsky String Technologies Inc. Developed a New Transport Improvement

It is especially lively today in EcoTechnoPark of Unitsky String Technologies Inc. uBus U4-220 awaits another improvement. This is an innovative pneumatic suspension developed by the company’s engineers (previously was used a mechanical one). Now it is necessary to remove the vehicle from the track structure and deliver it to production to replace this important element. Read in our report about how it was.

As a reminder, uBus U4-220 is a passenger vehicle designed to travel on urban and suburban routes that can reach speeds up to 150 km/h and is designed for 48 passengers.

In order to immediately start removing the uBus from the track structure, the testers prepared traverses, frames, and supports. A truck and a crane were driven up to the string rail station itself.

A uBus weighs about 6 tons. Not surprisingly, there are about 10 testers on site – it will be easier to remove a vehicle. Every employee is equipped with a helmet and special belts – safety comes first.

To remove a uBus from the track structure, it is necessary to attach long straps to it first. Several people are pulling from different directions.

At the same time, the uPod is pushed by testers standing on the second floor of the station.

When the uBus is almost out of the station, one of the workers fixes the vehicle.

Then the rail electric vehicle is “picked up” with the help of a crane and carefully lowered into the metal frame intended to carry a passenger uPod to manufacture.

Everything went very quickly and smoothly today. A couple of years ago, removing from the track structure took half a day, but now we’ve got the hang of it and can remove it in a couple of hours, — says tester Mars Tuymetov.

The final stage of the responsible event is placing the uBus on the semi-trailer truck. The next step is delivery to manufacture in Minsk. The work will be done there to modernize the traction bogie and replace the mechanical suspension with a more advanced pneumatic suspension.

It will take a month to complete the traction module in the car. Further, similar operations will be carried out with the second car, — said about the future plans Ivan Romanenko, the Head of Design Office of Unitsky String Technologies Inc.

By the way, such a suspension has already been successfully introduced into other uPods. The result has met expectations. The level of noise and vibration in the cabin has decreased several times, which made the transport even more comfortable for passengers. It should be noted that the company regularly conducts tests and develops new technical solutions. The aim is to ensure that string transport is as efficient, convenient, and safe for users as possible.

Watch the uBus being sent off to the production.
